DAY 1: KANSAS CITY ARRIVAL – TOUR BEGINS

Welcome to vibrant Kansas City! Settle into your downtown hotel for a two-night stay and anticipate the excitement of meeting fellow quilters and your Tour Manager at tonight’s Welcome Meeting. Rest up for the days ahead  filled with quilting wonders and budding friendships.

 

DAY 2: KANSAS CITY

Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before diving into the world of quilting on our Kansas City Shop Hop. Wander through City Market, enjoy lunch at your leisure, and then continue to another specially selected quilt shop. In the evening, experience the bustling Power & Light district or relax at the hotel, sharing your fabric treasures with your newfound friends. B

 

DAY 3: KANSAS CITY – HAMILTON

Set off for Hamilton, the enchanting “Quilting Wonderland” and home to the renowned Missouri Star Quilt Co. Indulge in a shopping extravaganza at Batik Boutique, Kids & Baby, and more than 10 other themed quilt shops downtown. Discover the captivating world of the Missouri Quilt Museum, showcasing antique sewing machines, vintage buttons, thimbles, toy sewing machines, and mesmerizing quilts. Spend the evening bonding with fellow travelers over today’s delightful finds. B, D

 

DAY 4: HAMILTON – WINTERSET – DES MOINES

Journey to Winterset, Iowa, stopping by the Amish Country Store and Bakery to explore the delightful assortment of local Amish crafts and treats. Arrive in Winterset, for the Iowa Quilt Museum’s annual Airing of the Quilts. Enjoy hundreds of quilts displayed throughout the historic downtown square to the famous Covered Bridges. Visit the legendary Piece Works Quilt Shop, the former offices of Marianne Fons and Liz Porter, before heading to your Des Moines hotel for a relaxing evening and dinner at your leisure. B, L

 

DAY 5: DES MOINES – WINTERSET – LINCOLN

Revisit Winterset for a guided excursion of the iconic covered bridges featured in the classic film, The Bridges of Madison County. Next, delve into the world of prairie plants while savoring a farm-to-table lunch at the historic Wallace Farm. Later, arrive in Lincoln, Nebraska, and spend your free evening exploring the lively Haymarket district or browsing local art galleries. B

 

DAY 6: LINCOLN

Tour the International Quilt Museum, where you’ll explore exhibitions and visit the preservation laboratory. Afterward, satisfy your quilting cravings at Cosmic Cow Fabrics and Quilting. Before your Farewell Dinner, send off your newly acquired treasures at the post office, then gather to exchange memories, addresses, and plans for future quilting adventures with your newfound friends. DAY 7: LINCOLN – OMAHA – TOUR ENDS

Stop by the Country Sampler Quilt Shop for any last-minute fabric discoveries, then enjoy lunch and shopping in Omaha’s charming Old Market. Transfer to the airport and embark on your journey home, cherishing the unforgettable memories from your extraordinary quilting adventure.
