Day 1 ARRIVE BOSTON – TOUR BEGINS
Welcome to New England, where the vibrant hues of autumn leaves will be your backdrop for the next seven days. Your adventure begins in Boston, savor the crisp fall air and marvel at the kaleidoscope of changing colors. The city’s blend of Colonial history and modern appeal sets the stage for our journey. Gather with your fellow quilting enthusiasts and meet your Tour Manager at our evening Welcome Meeting, the perfect opportunity to build bonds over shared interests and anticipation for the journey ahead.
Day 2 BOSTON – MANCHESTER
Our journey takes us north into the heart of New England, to the verdant New Hampshire landscape. Our first stop is a family-run farm, a living testament to the region’s deep-rooted farming heritage. At the picturesque Lull Farm, you’ll learn about the traditional methods of cider-making, immersing yourself in the rustic charm of rural life. Indulge in a warm cider donut while you soak in views of sunflower fields and apple orchards. Next, we venture to Pickity Place, a rustic cottage in the woods, for a quaint farm-to-table lunch. The day concludes with an enriching wine tour and tasting at the acclaimed Labelle Winery, offering a glimpse into the intricacies of wine production. B, L
Day 3 MANCHESTER – CANTERBURY – BURLINGTON
Following a hearty breakfast, we travel through serene farmlands to Canterbury Shaker Village. Here, step back in time and explore the unique living history of the Shaker community. Witness the community’s strong values of hard work and unity with nature as you stroll through diligently maintained gardens and restored buildings. Later, a visit to Quilted Threads in Henniker provides a chance to indulge in luscious quilting cottons and sewing materials. After exploring this quilter’s paradise, enjoy a scenic drive through the Green Mountains’ vibrant hues to reach Burlington, a city embodying New England’s spirit. B, L
Day 4 BURLINGTON – STOWE
The day begins at the extraordinary Shelburne Museum, a rich repository of art, design, and Americana. Every artifact here tells a story, creating a tapestry of history and culture. After immersing yourself in the museum’s private quilt collection, explore the charm of downtown Burlington independently. Tonight, we’ll escort you to the delightful town of Stowe. Here, you’re in for a culinary treat with an Austrian dinner at the Trapp Family Lodge, rounding off the day with a flavorful experience. B, D
Day 5 BURLINGTON – MONTPELIER – WOODSTOCK – OGUNQUIT
Our journey continues through scenic Montpelier, noted for its beautifully adorned Victorian homes and the historic State House. At Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks, uncover the centuries-old tradition of maple sugaring, a distinctive aspect of Vermont’s heritage. Next, visit the charming village of Woodstock, a quintessential New England treasure showcasing a stunning historic covered bridge and local boutiques. Later, travel over breathtaking Quechee Gorge as we transition from Vermont’s verdant landscapes to Maine’s captivating coastline. B
Day 6 OGUNQUIT – KENNEBUNKPORT
Wake up in the picturesque seaside town of Ogunquit, Maine. Take the morning to explore the charming village, where coastal serenity and the sweet scent of beach roses set the tone. Later, relish a delectable lobster roll in downtown Kennebunkport, a culinary icon synonymous with Maine. The afternoon offers a scenic coastal drive with a visit to the iconic Nubble Lighthouse, a beacon of Maine’s maritime history. Return to Ogunquit for a stroll along the historic Marginal Way, which leads to Perkins Cove where we’ll enjoy a customary New England Farewell Dinner at the locally famous Barnacle Billy’s. B, D
Day 7 OGUNQUIT – BOSTON – TOUR ENDS
Our journey concludes in Boston, a city steeped in rich history and timeless charm. Traverse the city’s historic landmarks, including the sights from the Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, and Paul Revere’s house, symbol of the American Revolution. Savor a farewell lunch at the bustling Faneuil Hall Marketplace, a food-lover’s paradise, before we bid our goodbyes at Boston’s Logan Airport.
