Day 1 – 4:        SpringHill Suites Downtown, Nashville, Tennessee

Day 1

Arrive in Nashville and settle into the SpringHill Suites Nashville Downtown, your home for four nights and within walking distance of Music City Center, home of the Modern Quilt Guild’s show, QuiltCon. Meet fellow quilt-lovers at tonight’s Welcome Meeting.

Day 2

After breakfast (included daily), get to know the city on a Nashville Panoramic City Tour. Have lunch downtown on your own, then see memorabilia and iconic instruments at the Country Music Hall of Fame where its unrivaled, two million-item collection preserves the enduring beauty of country music. B

Day 3

It’s showtime – the QuiltCon show, that is. With your full-day admission ticket, you’ll step into the most exciting movement in quilting history.  Presented by the Modern Quilt Guild, QuiltCon is the largest modern quilting show of its kind, displaying over 550 contemporary quilts, 360 of which are juried works of MQG members around the world. More than 100 vendors will inspire you to great works of your own, with bolt after bolt of fabrics, every quilting and needlework notion imaginable, specialty threads, the latest in sewing machines and tools, and finished needlecrafts. All this is in a bright, airy, upbeat atmosphere. Each evening QuiltCon hosts a Happy Hour (cash bar) where you can socialize with the artists and fellow modern quilt enthusiasts. B

Day 4

You have a full-day admission ticket, and with your imagination fired from yesterday’s kaleidoscope of quilts, today is a good time to turn your ideas into reality at hands-on workshops and classes. Meet the leading designers and quilters as they breathe new life into seminars with their fresh, hip approach. Reserve early for fullest choice from the dizzying array: pieced curves, free-form, tessellation, and skills like natural dyeing, block and silk-screen printing, or pattern making.  Take a break this afternoon from the high momentum of the show on our RCA Studio B Tour.  You’ll see where more than 1,000 American hits, including over 200 by Elvis, were recorded, in the studio that established Nashville as a recording center.  This evening, compare notes with fellow Country Heritage quilt-lovers at our Farewell Dinner. B, D

Day 5

You have a full-day QuiltCon show admission today, so you can return to this vibrant event for more workshops and last-minute shopping before your departure. B
