Day 1

Arrive in New Orleans and settle in before greeting your Tour Manager and fellow craft enthusiasts at this evening’s Welcome Meeting. B

Day 2

After breakfast (included daily), join a New Orleans City Tour, followed by free time before a guided walking tour of the French Quarter, the city’s most historic neighborhood. Look behind the scenes at Mardi Gras traditions during a guided tour of Mardi Gras World. Maybe you’ll choose one of the French Quarter’s famous restaurants this evening. B

Day 3

Stop at the adorable Uptown Needle & Craftworks, featured in Quiltfolk, and the Mardis Gras bead shop next door before leaving for Avery Island. After your Tabasco Factory Guided Tour, shop at the Tabasco Country Store and take a Jungle Gardens Scenic Driving Tour through lush subtopical landscapes of moss-draped trees. Tap your feet to live zydeco music at tonight’s included Cajun Dinner in Lafayette.  B, D

Day 4

Learn how accordions create the sweet sounds of zydeco at a Martin Accordions Demo and Factory Tour. Then see traditional crafts demonstrated in the restored homes of Vermilionville Historic Village, a living history museum of Acadian, Native American and Creole cultures. Sample Acadian dishes at the café before departing for Baton Rouge, stopping at The Quilt Corner en route. B

Day 5

After a tour of the LSU Textile Department Museum focusing on American quilts, you’ll stop at Cottage Creations, a tiny quilt shop in a hand-built wooden cottage. Browse boutiques at Cajun Village before lunch (and the Coffee House’s famous beignets). Relax at a Mint Julep Reception in Nottoway Plantation, the South’s largest antebellum mansion and your home for two nights. B

Day 6

Today’s Plantation Parade starts with a guided tour of Houmas House, known as The Sugar Palace, with lunch at Café Burnside included. The Laura Plantation Guided Tour has been called the country’s best history tour for its well-documented portrayal of four generations of one Creole family. After your guided tour of Oak Alley Plantation (you may recognize its oft-photographed tree-lined drive), there’s time to explore the gardens. Back at Nottoway, share memories with new friends at a gala Farewell Dinner. B, L ,D

Day 7

After some final shopping for fabrics at All Stitched Up, we’ll stop for lunch and a shipping center in downtown Slidell before saying goodbye at the airport. B
