Day 1

Arrive Elkhart – Tour Begins

Arrive in Elkhart, Indiana and settle in before greeting your Tour Manager and fellow quilt enthusiasts at this evening’s Welcome Meeting. B


Day 2


After breakfast (included daily), a visit to charming downtown Shipshewana has us shopping for quality quilting cottons and supplies at The Cotton Corner. Next, shop for goods at Yoder’s General Store then browse the luscious fabrics and handmade quilts at Lolly’s Fabrics. After an Amish rug weaving demo, settle in for our Amish Quilts trunk show and Quilting Bee.  Tonight, join a plain family to savor an Amish wedding feast. B, D


Day 3

Elkhart – Shipshewana – Grand Rapids

This morning, travel Indiana’s scenic backroads to witness blooming Quilt Gardens and learn tips and tricks of the gardeners who bring these living works of art to life. You’ll hear how over 200 volunteers work over 4 months to keep the colorful pattern of flowers welcoming and beautiful for all to enjoy while dealing with fickle Mother Nature. Later, depart for our downtown hotel is beautiful Grand Rapids. B


Day 4

Grand Rapids

Spend the day seeing hundreds of beautiful quilts on exhibit at the American Quilter’s Society’s QuiltWeek Grand Rapids.  It’s all here: traditional to radically unconventional quilts, competitions, galleries, and priceless historic pieces from around the world. shop for fabric, machines, & quilting supplies at vendor stalls brimming with merchandise.  You’re evening at leisure allows for class participation or to simply relax and unwind at our hotel lounge. B


Day 5

Grand Rapids – Mackinac Island

Enjoy the scenic drive north before boarding the ferry that takes us back to a simpler time on Mackinac Island.  Experience the Jewell of the Great Lakes as you board your horse drawn carriage upon arrival. Witness the yellow awnings of the opulent Grand Hotel and listen to the clip-clops of horses on your carriage ride city tour. Tonight, tuck in for a relaxing evening at our water-side resort. B


Day 6

Mackinac Island

After enjoying sunrise views at breakfast, spend time exploring the quaint village of this National Landmark Island making sure to sample the famous fudge or enjoy an elegant lunch on the porch of the Grand.  Tonight, celebrate the trip with fellow travel companions at our evening Farewell Dinner. B, D


Day 7

Mackinac Island – Tour Ends

After boarding our ferry for the trip back to mainland, bid farewell to Mackinac Island before exchanging addresses with new friends on our departure transfer to Cherry Capital Airport – Traverse City. B
