See Shelburne Museum’s exceptional quilt collection before stargazing the clear sky of the Green Mountains. Tour Ben & Jerry’s Factory, dine and stay at Trapp Family Lodge and say goodbyes over a lobster feast.

Day 1

Boston

Settle into your hotel, perhaps exploring Boston’s lively North End before meeting our Tour Manager and fellow quilt-lovers at the Evening Welcome Meeting.

Day 2

Boston – Portsmouth

After breakfast (included daily), take a guided tour of Boston, with time for lunch and shopping at famed Faneuil Hall. Relax on the short drive to Portsmouth, on New Hampshire’s seacoast, visiting the historic homes and gardens of Strawbery Banke open-air museum. Tonight you can explore more of this old port city and dine on your own at one of its many restaurants. B

Day 3

Portsmouth – Woodstock – Stowe

Enjoy views of Mount Monadnock as you cross southern New Hampshire, stopping at Quilted Threads, an eye-dazzling quilt and needlework shop brimful of brilliant fabrics. Cross into Vermont, admiring valley views from the scenic overlook before lunch and free time to shop in Woodstock’s galleries and boutiques. Savor mountain views at the Trapp Family Lodge, home for the next two nights, and sample traditional German dishes in their dining room (included). B, D

Day 4

Stowe – Burlington – Stowe

Tour the historic buildings at the open-air Shelburne Museum to see their exceptional collection of historic handmade quilts. Twenty-five buildings, including the lighthouse, have all been relocated to the museum grounds and provide the backdrop while you enjoy lunch on your own. Later, enjoy ice cream and a factory tour at the incomparable Ben & Jerry’s. B

Day 5

Stowe – Essex Junction – Freeport

With Trapp Lodge’s breathtaking views of the Green Mountains as our backdrop attend our VIP guest event with legendary Vermont Quilt Festival founder, Richard Cleveland.  You’ll be captivated by Richard’s energy and enthusiasm as he shares with you the humbling details of how the show was created and how his artful vision was able to guide it into being the largest quilting event in New England.  Afterwards, experience the rare opportunity to learn more about the history embedded in the fabric and stitches of a quilt of your own! Guests are invited to each bring a quilt from their collection to be historically evaluated by Richard himself. Traveling to Maine, you can relax and enjoy New England’s finest scenery in the White Mountains. After crossing New Hampshire, arrive in Freeport, Maine, in time to settle in for dinner on your own. B

Day 6

Freeport – Portland – York – Freeport

Get your creative juices flowing at Cotton Weeds Quilt Shop, a quilter’s dream of fabrics including hand-dyed batiks. Visit Maine’s historic waterfront before free time for lunch and exploring Portland. Later, 0ur scenic drive through Kennebunkport, past Walker’s Point to Foster’s Clam Bake sets the stage for our lobster Farewell Dinner

Day 7

Freeport – Salem – Boston

Drive to Salem, Massachusetts to experience the history of the Salem Witch Trials before lunch on your own in downtown. Swapp addresses with new friends before saying goodbye at Logan Airport. B
