Welcome to our historic downtown San Antonio hotel ,just a short walk to adobe shops offering local antiques and art, and river cafes serving traditional foods. Later meet your Tour Manager e and travel-mates at our Welcome Meeting.
“Remember the Alamo” with our guide and learn about Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie at the historic fort. Later explore San Antonio where perhaps you’ll board an elegant horse-drawn carriage, browse in curio shops, or stroll the Riverwalk. Visit a Mexican market where you’re serenaded by Mariachi while visiting over fifty shops of ethnic handcrafts, art, jewelry and pottery. Later board our private river taxi excursion down the Paseo Del Rio, cruising under a canopy of cypress trees and arched footbridges. B
Creations Quilt Shop
This morning we’ll visit the area’s favorite quilt shop! Here shelves and cabinets are filled with fabrics including Texas prints, hand-dyed and marbleized fabrics, and antique spool cabinets overflow with specialty buttons, trims, notions, and patterns. Later we’ll travel to the Bavarian village of Fredericksburg to see the “gingerbread” houses, and explore the shoppes of fine crafts, and bakeries specializing in strudels and German pretzels. B, D
Texas Quilt Museum
This morning we’ll visit the Texas Quilt Museum, where the vintage brick interiors of an 1800’s building display quilts from Texas and around the world. Day’s end finds us checking into our luxurious hotel inside the Houston Galleria Mall. Enjoy the convenience of over 300 shops and restaurants, and our private shuttle to the show. Tonight attend Preview Night at the International Quilt Festival/Houston. B

Take a break this afternoon as we venture to the historic turn-of-the-century settlement of Old Town Spring where a variety of Victorian style restaurants and quilt shops are ready to be explored. Tonight’s Farewell Dinner gives you a chance to swap addresses with your new friends. B,D
