Each Country Heritage tour is led by a friendly and knowledgeable professional tour director who will ensure your trip is enjoyable and trouble-free. Most of our Tour Directors have been with us for years and share the interests and hobbies of our travelers. Sit back and relax—your experienced tour director will handle check-ins and bills. All you have to do is enjoy your adventure.

Friendly Groups

Because our guests share a common interest in quilting, you’ll immediately feel as if you are traveling with friends. We start every tour with a Welcome Meeting, and schedule informal get-togethers that make our tours extra special and fun. You’ll find our tours are not only filled with special people, but special events like our very own Show & Tell. Whether you bring something from home, a purchase made on the tour, a favorite technique, or a work in progress, it’s a great opportunity for sharing and fun.

Dining

You’ll appreciate our extra care in meal planning. We’ll provide some meals to enjoy with your group, as well as opportunities to sample local fare on your own. Because food reflects culture, we often feature regional specialties.   We regret that we are unable to provide special meals for those with dietary restrictions.

When traveling with Country Heritage Tours, you’ll enjoy first class accommodations that reflect the countryside are we are visiting. Some hotels are noted for their ambiance, and others are celebrated landmarks. Wherever we stay, we are always committed to assuring the comfort of each and every guest.

One of the main reasons you visit a destination is to see the sights. Seeing a destination is fine, but actually experiencing its culture is the ultimate joy. With Country Heritage Tours, you’ll enjoy special events that make your vacation fun and memorable. Our journeys often include off-the-beaten-path places where authentic crafts wait to be discovered.

Pre-departure Travel Information

We’ll send you information in advance to help you plan a perfect vacation. We’ll let you know what kind of weather to expect, what clothes to pack, and how much to budget for meals and gratuities not included in the tour. We’ll also send you information about special events, a list of hotels to leave with family or friends, a detailed itinerary, and transportation information for our starting hotel.

Getting to our Starting Point

Because our tours originate in different cities throughout the United States (and the world), transportation to the originating city and starting hotel is not included in the tour price

Guaranteed Share Program

If you want to share a room to save money or for companionship, call us at least 60 days before your tour departs, and we’ll arrange a roommate for you. If we can’t find you one, we guarantee you’ll travel at the “two to a room” rate. (Domestic tours only)

Trip Insurance

Travel insurance is available to cover trip cancellation, accident, illness, and baggage. Information regarding travel insurance will be included with your confirmation letter.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Hotel Transfers

Because tour members frequently arrive at different time and sometimes on different days, transportation to the hotel that serves as our tour point of departure is not included unless otherwise stated. We will provide you with information on public limousine and taxi service, which will be included with your pre-departure documents.

Itinerary Variations

Our tours are planned a year or more in advance. Right up to the day that a tour begins, Country Heritage Tours strives to improve each itinerary. If conditions beyond our control necessitate changes, we reserve the right to vary itineraries, change hotels and to substitute the best alternatives available. During local or national holidays certain features may be limited. In such instances and whenever possible, itinerary adjustments and substitutions are made to minimize inconvenience.

Baggage

On tours where baggage handling is included, you may bring one large suitcase, as well as a small carry-on bag (no wheels please) that must fit under your seat. For extra luggage, an additional fee will be assessed to cover bellpersons’ tips and hotel charges. There is no charge for carry-on luggage, for which you will be responsible. Country Heritage Tours cannot be responsible, assume liability, or accept claims for lost or damage to luggage due to breakage, theft, or fair wear and tear through hotel and carrier handling.

Motorcoach Information

Travel on all Country Heritage Tours is by scenic motor coach. All coaches are air-conditioned and are equipped with a restroom. For your convenience, travel days include rest stops and meal stops while en route. A seat rotation policy is followed to allow every traveler an equal opportunity for viewing the sights.

Accommodations

On occasion, a double accommodation may consist of one stationary bed and one pull-out couch.

Triple Accommodations

A triple room is the same size as a twin bed room. It will have beds to accommodate three people; however, we cannot guarantee that there will be three separate beds. If there are only two beds, a rollaway may be requested, but cannot be guaranteed.

Not Included

The tour price does not include transportation to our starting city, personal items such as additional food or beverage orders, room service, valet or laundry service, meals not listed as “included,” phone access charges, or tipping for personal services not part of the tours included features.

Smoking Policy

Country Heritage Tours motor coaches maintain a no smoking policy.

Tipping

Gratuities are included for all bellpersons and wait staff who serve you as part of the tour itinerary. Gratuities for step-on guides in individual cities can be offered at the time of service. The traditional end-of-trip gratuities to your tour director(s) and motor coach driver are not included. If you feel your tour director(s) or driver helped you to enjoy your Country Heritage Tour experience, we suggest you enclose a gratuity in an envelope and present it individually at the end of the tour.

Active Tours

Our tours are active tours. If you enjoy walking, you will enjoy a Country Heritage Tour. All tour participants should be in good health and comfortable with a moderate amount of walking. Country Heritage Tours cannot provide special individual assistance to tour participants with special needs for walking or other routine activities.

Traveling Smart

Travel takes people into new and unusual situations. Part of the joy of travel is experiencing the diversity of our world. In many areas of the country and the world, ways of life, points of view, personal values, and patterns of conduct are vastly different from what you may be used to.

Be sure to pack comfortable (and not new) walking shoes.

Tour participants who require physical assistance should be accompanied by a helper, who will be totally responsible for providing assistance. Country Heritage Tours is subject to the policies of suppliers of facilities, accommodations, and transportation carriers, none of which are owned, leased, or operated by Country Heritage Tours. Our objectives are to ensure the compatibility and congeniality of all passengers and the smooth and efficient operation of the tour. We reserve the right to refuse a reservation or withdraw from a tour any person who disturbs the integrity of that tour.

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is not included in the tour price?The tour price does not include transportation to our starting city, hotel transfers, customary end of trip gratuities for your Tour Director, driver, local guides, meals not listed as included, phone access charges, and any incidental charges. Can Country Heritage Tours book additional hotel nights for me? If you wish to arrive before our tour starts or stay after our tour concludes, you will be personally responsible for making hotel arrangements. Do I need a passport? You will require a passport valid for six months past your tour date for trips outside your country of citizenship. Do you rotate seats on tours? Seats are rotated onboard the motor coach for all Country Heritage Tours trips under the direction of the Tour Director. Unfortunately exceptions cannot be made. Where do I meet my Tour Director? Your tour begins at the starting hotel on the first night at our Welcome Meeting. You will meet your Tour Director who will provide details relating to your tour. The hotel address and phone number will be included with your documents. Are hotel transfers included? For your comfort, we recommend packing walking shoes so you fully enjoy every aspect of your vacation. Do I need to bring my own hairdryer? Most of our hotels have hairdryers in the room. Do you offer trip insurance? Travel insurance is available to cover trip cancellation, accident, illness and baggage.
