Day 1

San Diego

Explore San Diego’s downtown historic district, or relax after your flight at our luxury, all-suite hotel overlooking the beautiful San Diego Bay. This evening, meet your friendly Tour Manager and traveling companions at our Welcome Meeting.

Day 2

San Diego – San Marcos – San Diego

We begin our day with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of internationally acclaimed Hoffman California Fabrics. Follow your favorites through Hoffman’s designing, screen printing, and batiking, and see finished fabrics prepped on giant rollers. Later, shop for luscious Hoffman fabrics and more at Eleanor Burns’ Quilt in a Day studio where her PBS television series is filmed. Tonight, enjoy dinner and a private after-hours shopping spree at legendary Rosie’s Calico Cupboard quilt shop. Browse through rooms filled with Orientals, batiks, flannels, 19th and early 20th century reproductions, 18,000 bolts of first-quality fabric, plus thousands of notions—all at private discount prices! B,L,D

Day 3

San Diego

Discover the historic sights of Old Town, Balboa Park, Downtown and the Coronado on our San Diego city tour. Later, travel through California’s rolling vineyard country, framed by majestic mountains, on our way to Fat Quarters Quilt Shop.  Inside the quaint, Quilt Sampler Featured Shop is more than 4000 thousand  bolts of premium cotton quilting fabric from  Moda, Marcus Fabrics, Andover Fabrics, and Hoffman. Stock up on patterns, kits and notions before our departure back to our hotel for an evening at your leisure. B

Day 4

San Diego – Temecula – Ontario

This morning, we visit Temecula Quilt Co. and Needle in a Fabric Stash to shop their abundance of delightful fabrics and notions. Next, we’ll journey back to the 1800s at the historic frontier village of Old Town Temecula where shops brim with antiques and artwork.  Later, we arrive in the city of Ontario and check into our luxurious hacienda-inspired resort. This evening, attend a “sneak preview” of the quilts at the Road to California Quilter’s Conference & Showcase. B

Day 5

Your unlimited admission show pass lets you set your own schedule for visiting the conference any time you like. It’s California’s largest and glitzy-est show, with hundreds of spectacular quilts just steps from our hotel. Take a break later this afternoon and join your travel companions over libations at our informal Social Hour. B

Day 6

Enjoy a leisurely morning, take a class (reserve ahead, please), or use your pass to spend as much time as you like at the show. Tonight we’ll say goodbye to new friends at our Farewell Dinner. B, D

Day 7

Personalize your day, relaxing at the pool or returning to the show to shop at the merchant’s mall (far easier now that crowds have dwindled) before taking the hotel’s shuttle to the airport. B
