Day 2 Philadelphia to Lancaster – Founding History & Farmland Views Breakfast

After breakfast, dive into the heart of American history with a guided tour of Philadelphia. Highlights include the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross House, and a tour of Independence Hall—where the nation took its first steps toward freedom. Savor an indipendanty lunch at Reading Terminal Market, where foodies and fabric lovers alike will find something to adore. In the afternoon, we journey into the rolling farmlands of Lancaster County—your home for the next three nights. B

Day 3 Quilts & Countryside Breakfast, Dinner

Our fabric trail begins at Log Cabin Quilt & Fabric Shop, a local favorite packed with quilting inspiration. Then we head to Intercourse, PA (yes, really!) to shop at The Old Country Store, famous for its massive selection of top-quality quilting cottons. Next, browse Kitchen Kettle Village—filled with handmade jams, crafts, and sweet surprises. This afternoon, we’ll venture down scenic backroads with a local guide and arrive at an Amish family’s home, where we’re treated to an authentic, home-cooked Amish supper. It’s an unforgettable evening of warm hospitality and cultural connection. B, D

Discover the elegance of Winterthur, the former estate of Henry Francis du Pont and one of America’s finest decorative arts museums. Explore beautifully curated period rooms filled with remarkable American craftsmanship, then wander the sweeping 1,000-acre gardens designed as a naturalistic retreat. Winterthur offers a captivating blend of art, history, and landscape. B

Day 5 Lancaster to Washington, D.C. – Artful Quilts & Live Chalk Art Breakfast

This morning, step into the legacy of quilting at LancasterHistory, where a private bed turning features pieces from the stunning Esprit Quilt Collection. Its Amish quilts from Lancaster County decorated the San Francisco headquarters of the Esprit clothing company as inspiration. Next, enjoy a unique Chalk Talk at Barnyard Art Studio with Mennonite artist Elva Hurst, whose storytelling and live chalk artistry will leave you inspired. Afterward, we travel to the nation’s capital, arriving in Washington, D.C., for the final leg of our adventure.

In the afternoon, we dive into the world of textiles at the George Washington University Textile Museum—home to thousands of rare and historic pieces from around the globe. This evening, we gather for a joyful Farewell Dinner, celebrating the friendships we’ve stitched together and the memories made throughout the week.

Before heading home, we’ll make one final stop at the Daughters of the American Revolution Museum.
